The Mayflower Story

Did you know that your ancestors came over on the Mayflower?

A Legacy Across the Atlantic

In September of 1620, a small ship called the Mayflower departed from Plymouth, England, carrying 102 passengers seeking a new life in the New World. Among those brave souls were individuals whose bloodline would eventually flow through generations to become part of our family story.

The voyage was treacherous—66 days across the unforgiving Atlantic Ocean. Many fell ill, and the cramped quarters tested the resolve of every passenger. Yet they persevered, driven by hope and the promise of religious freedom and opportunity.

"Being thus arrived in a good harbor, and brought safe to land, they fell upon their knees and blessed the God of Heaven who had brought them over the vast and furious ocean." — William Bradford, Of Plymouth Plantation

Our Connection

Through meticulous genealogical research, we have traced our lineage back to passengers aboard that historic vessel. This connection represents not just a historical curiosity, but a profound link to the founding of America itself.

The courage and determination that drove our ancestors to cross an ocean in search of a better life is the same spirit that later brought their descendants westward to Utah, establishing the roots of what would become the Swenson family legacy.

Documented Lineage

Our family records show direct descent through multiple generations, carefully documented through church records, census data, and family bibles passed down through the years. This isn't merely family legend—it's verified history that connects us to one of the most significant events in American history.
